Darkfall Public Beta This Summer!

Or at least that is what Tasos Flambouras (the Darkfall Ass. Producer) said was their internal target for beta [LINK]

Assuming that they succeed in this, and beta test for three months or so, they might be able to release the retail version of the game by Christmas. How awesome would that be?

Other signs of progress are the updated world lore and monster pages, plus updates for the Alfar, Marihim and Mirdain race pages. Screenshots of the last two, previously unseen, racial mounts (Alfar drakes and Mirdain Aerdin) also have appeared, not to mention the Alfar and Mirdains themselves. Previously there had only been screenshots of Orks, Humans, Dwarfs and their mounts.

In my personal opinion the Mirdain and Alfar look nothing as great as the Humans and Marihim, but that might just be because the Alfar and Mirdain are not finished yet, which would make sense.

Anyway, in celebration of the Darkfall developers admitting what their target is for public beta I’m going to post links to every Darkfall movie I can find.

Official movies

This one is some 4 months old and probably doesn’t represent where the game is now.

This one is a lot older and shows how much work the developers have put in to get Darkfall looking so great in their last official video.

Here the developers are showing of their awesome animation skills. It has an Ork riding his racial mount, a Death Pig, through grass that is blowing through the wind. The clouds are great too.

I created this video only three weeks after discovering Darkfall’s existence and wanted to point out why the game has me so stoked.
